Zapopan, Jalisco, August 26, 2025.— Reaffirming their pride and commitment to products made in the country, 16 Tequila producers received the “Hecho en México” certification mark granted by the Federal Government through the Ministry of Economy, authorizing its use on 85 brands.
During the award event, the president of the Tequila Regulatory Council A.C. (CRT), Aurelio López Rocha, expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Economy, headed by Marcelo Ebrard Casaubón, for relaunching this successful program.
“Count on our support and encouragement to motivate more Tequila companies and brands to obtain this valuable distinction, which is undoubtedly synonymous with quality—quality backed by the talent, creativity, and innovation of the producers in our country who work to offer competitive goods and services. The Tequila Appellation of Origin, as a symbol of our culture, tradition, and identity, is by its very nature a proud bearer of the Hecho en México distinction,” stated the president of the CRT, Aurelio López Rocha.

This certification mark is an official distinction granted free of charge to individuals or legal entities whose products meet quality criteria, are produced within national territory, demonstrate a commitment to sustainability, and contribute to strengthening Mexican identity.
Representing the Ministry of Economy, Alberto Uribe Camacho, Head of the General Directorate of National Content and Promotion of the Energy Sector, spoke about the importance of promoting and protecting national industry as part of the Federal Government’s Plan México.
“When we speak about national content, we are also talking about national manufacturing, which has always elevated Mexico. And the CRT, as a regulatory body, has enabled the industry to grow, to strengthen, and to remain competitive—especially now, with a highly significant level of exports,” stated Alberto Uribe.
The “Hecho en México” certification strengthens the competitiveness of Mexican products, promotes domestic consumption, and enhances their positioning in international markets, allowing consumers to easily identify products made in the country.
The Tequila Regulatory Council will continue promoting this certification, reaffirming that what is made in Mexico is well made—synonymous with quality, authenticity, and tradition, just as Tequila is: Mexico’s gift to the world.
