Tequila Regulatory Council Signs Agreements with ACCEL and ARMEX to Facilitate Financing for Producers

Authorized producers will be able to use their Tequila inventories as collateral to access financing.

The warehouses operated by both storage companies will be incorporated into the CRT’s inspection network to ensure inventory traceability and regulatory compliance.

Zapopan, Jalisco, October 22, 2026. — With the aim of continuing to implement strategies that benefit the various sectors of the Agave–Tequila Production Chain, the Tequila Regulatory Council A.C. (CRT) signed collaboration agreements with Almacenadora Regional Mexicana S.A. de C.V. (ARMEX) and Almacenadora ACCEL, S.A., a credit auxiliary organization (ACCEL), to facilitate access to financing for authorized Tequila producers.

Through these agreements, authorized producers will be able to use their Tequila inventories as collateral to obtain financing through a mechanism known as inventory pledging. This allows them to leverage the value of their stored products without having to sell them immediately.

In his remarks, CRT President Aurelio López Rocha highlighted the significance of these agreements for the Tequila agroindustry in light of the current situation facing the agave sector.

“Pledging Tequila inventories represents a strategic alternative and a fundamental pillar for promoting greater consumption of this raw material. Undoubtedly, this mechanism helps us change our perspective, shifting away from thinking about how much agave could go to waste and focusing instead on how much more we can utilize and transform into Mexico’s quintessential national spirit. For this reason, we are grateful for your support and trust in making this alternative possible for the benefit of the Tequila agroindustry,” stated CRT President Aurelio López Rocha.

As part of these agreements, the warehouses operated by ARMEX and ACCEL will be incorporated into the CRT’s inspection network.

“I would like to emphasize that, to maintain the traceability of Tequila inventories, our plant inspectors will continue conducting permanent inspections at ACCEL and ARMEX warehouses, just as they do at all inspection points, thereby ensuring compliance with the requirements established by the Tequila Standard,” stated CRT President Aurelio López Rocha.

On behalf of ACCEL, National Director of Projects and Authorizations Enrique Alemán Valenzuela highlighted the importance of contributing solutions that strengthen the Production Chain and support its continued development.

“The purpose of this agreement is precisely to make our experience and capabilities as a credit auxiliary organization available to our members, offering mechanisms that allow them to leverage the value of their inventories through the issuance of warehouse receipts, thereby facilitating their use as collateral to access various financing options,” emphasized the ACCEL representative.

Meanwhile, ARMEX General Manager Andrés Ramagnoli Boue noted that the development of Mexico’s productive sectors requires institutions that share a long-term vision, operate responsibly, and contribute to creating value.

“We are making our expertise in storage, inventory management, and warehouse authorization available to identify opportunities that address the needs of the sector. We believe this agreement is an opportunity to pool our capabilities, build trust, and develop projects that generate benefits, particularly for companies that can take advantage of this collaboration,” emphasized ARMEX General Manager.

The signing of these agreements opens up new opportunities to strengthen the operations of authorized Tequila producers. The main benefits include:

– Access to financing: Expanding the options available to producers to obtain financial resources by using their Tequila inventories as collateral to support their business operations.

– Greater liquidity through optimized inventory management: Leveraging the economic value of their inventories without having to sell them immediately.

– Certainty and security: Strengthening confidence in transactions through inventory control and traceability mechanisms.

– Protection of the Tequila Appellation of Origin: Ensuring that operations comply with NOM-006-SCFI-2012 and other applicable regulations.

For the Tequila Regulatory Council, these agreements are part of its ongoing efforts to promote the development of the Agave–Tequila Production Chain, strengthen production, facilitate access to new markets, and reinforce the protection of the Tequila Appellation of Origin.

Producers interested in accessing these financing options may contact ARMEX or ACCEL directly to learn more about the requirements, terms, and available options.
